Having experimented with numerous Variable ND filters, we discovered they were either too costly or the quality fell short. None managed to strike the perfect balance between affordability, functionality, and quality—so we crafted our own. The filter rings are precision-engineered from aerospace-grade metal, ensuring the robustness we demand during shoots. Our Variable ND Filters boast a distinctive flared geometry, unparalleled in the market, which enables you to view your ND number from behind the viewfinder. This grants rapid, accurate control over your shots in challenging lighting conditions without requiring you to step away from the camera. Designed for on-the-go shooting, the filters also incorporate hard stops at both ends of the spectrum to avert undesired cross-polarization, achieving the purest image.
What We Love:
Premium Glass
We chose Schott B270 Pro Cinema Glass to maintain maximum optical quality and create crisp images.
A New Level of Control
Our unique geometry and laser-etched graphics allow you to see which stop you’re shooting from behind the viewfinder. This allows for faster control and easy starting points for your shots in different lighting conditions.
Zero Cross Polarization
We specifically engineered the rotation of the filter to have hard stops at both ends of the working range, preventing unwanted cross-polarization.
The Details:

Ultimate Control
The Moment variable ND filters were initially released in 67mm, 77mm and 82mm diameters. Now, they're available in more sizes including 58mm, 62mm, and 72mm.
This VND filter features a ring incorporating a superior glass element (the Schott B270 Pro Cinema Glass). Naturally, the filter's surface is adorned with a red anodized inner ring and a dazzling magenta-red iridescent coating for added flair. While not directly impacting the filter's performance, we take pride in our minimalist packaging: a sophisticated black-on-black metal filter case with threaded closures between the sections. This minimalist approach not only makes our packaging more eco-friendly than competitors, but it also helps reduce the filter's cost. However, the case may become somewhat fragile over time and prove less practical in the field—particularly when attempting to grip the sections and twist them apart in cold, wet conditions. That being said, this concern pertains to the case itself, not the filter's quality.
Mounting the filter on the camera is a breeze. The outer ring is angled back towards the camera, rendering the indicator markings printed on it visible from behind the camera.
The Ultimate Guide To Lens Filters and Filter Adapters
Camera filters enable creators to manually adjust images without needing extra post-production. From CPL to UV filters, here are our favorites and how to use them.
Read moreField-testing the filter yields exceptional results at a fraction of the cost compared to other VNDs in the market. The filter exhibits a noticeable color cast, veering considerably towards the warm side. While color casts are often considered suboptimal, they usually pose minor issues in most scenarios. We take pride in the fact that our filter does NOT exhibit the dreaded X-pattern interference commonly associated with some VND filters, nor does it produce any conventional vignetting. Cross-polarization is remarkably crisp and does not disrupt the camera's already impressive resolution patterns.
The filter enables you to capture natural motion blur by maintaining a shutter speed double your frame rate. For instance, when shooting at 30fps, it can be challenging to keep your shutter speed at approximately 1/60th, particularly in bright conditions. Simply attach the VND and rotate it to regulate the amount of light being blocked. In most cases, our 2-5 stop VND will suffice for video.
